Format: 10″
Label: Fire Records
Catalog #: BLAZE10149

The Keep Mothers 10″ Alphabet Series is brought to us by Fire Records which are based in the UK. Each 10″ is comprised of 2 artist paired at random, each providing a track that runs about 10 minutes long. The singles are pressed on heavy 180 gram vinyl and come with a equally heavy cardboard sleeve which is hand stamped and hand numbered. The series will consist of 13 10″ singles and subscribers to the series will get a Keep Mother box to keep all 13 in once the series completes. Before you ask where to signup you should be aware of the cost involved. If you are located in the UK you can subscribe for 72 pounds. If you are in Europe this will cost you 90 pounds and for those outside of this area your looking at dropping 100 pounds for this series. That’s roughly $203 US Dollars! However because they are so limited and subscribers get the special box I have no doubt your investment will be a wise one. You can also purchase each 10″ for 5 Pounds plus shipping. The Bardo Pond and Pre Keep Mothers 10″ is the 5th in the series and according to Fire Records is for the letters I & J. Neither the band names or the some names start with I or J. Bardo Ponds epic psychedelic track is titled On Everything and clocks in at 10 minutes and 45 seconds while Pres feedback heavy track is titled Big Dique and clocks in at an above average 9 minutes and 46 seconds. At first glance the single seems very bland but it really is a work of art and it is evident that great care was taken into the pressing and packaging of these singles. The next installment in the series will be released on July 16th and features the bands Duke Garwood and HTRK and will cost you 10 Pounds, not 5 as the other releases.

Rather expensive for my liking. Have only heard of two of the artists featured so far as well. Seems nice quality but out of my price range.

I was in Austin TX a few weeks ago and Waterloo Records had several of these 10″ marked down to $5!! Sure beats paying the big bucks from the label.
