Today I opened up my Dreamend LP, Are We Making God Sad & Lonely (hand numbered and limited to 250 copies I might add), and after digging through the loads of fun stuff Graveface always puts in your package (I got a cool Appleseed Cast poster, a mint or some sort, a plastic bat…) I noticed this flyer. Freddy Points. OK cool, so I start reading, yeah the first few points get you a free LP or double LP but then look what you can get if you purchase a bunch of their releases over time. A one of a kind color pressing for an upcoming album, hand numbered, probably 1/1, hell yeah thats awesome! What a William Schaff art print just for me, OK! Hats off to Graveface for putting together a sweet looking program. Checkout their releases here.

Columbus Discount Records is re-issuing the Golden Oldies collection, originally self released in 2009, from the Columbus, OH based Psychedelic Horseshit. This has become part of the official release lineup now that the label has pressing rights to the tracks. The second pressing is limited to 400 copies and can be purchased for $15 (shipping to US included) directly from CDR
right here. As you notice that link will take you to a page for both of the new releases the label has today. The other one being the debut from the Guinea Worms, a double LP debut album no less. I recommend you pick up both releases.

Weird Owl returns after a 2007 self released album, this time on Tee Pee records. The album, titled Ever the Silver Cord be Loosed, will be well received by fans of other modern psychedelic bands such as the Black Angels or Dead Meadow. Alien Snatch, is a continuation of what the band started with it’s debut 2007 single. While none of the songs on the album may stick in my head as fast as Love Boat Song, this record is a great collection of highly addictive, danceable rock n roll songs. The record is pressed on high quality 180 gram vinyl and the first 100 copies are on a colored vinyl. As 2009 starts to roll on and I get back into writing for this website we will start up with a great, great contest. Ryan, from Chicago based Graveface Records, was kind enough to set up a giveaway for the new
Dreamend 2xLP titled “
The Long Forgotten Friend”. Not only does Ryan own and run the Graveface label but he also is a part time guitarist in Black Moth Super Rainbow and puts out music under the Dreamend name. The album is based on memories of an old relative and will prove to be a perfect fit for the cold wintry season surrounding many of us. While your reading this, I highly recommend you head over to
this page here which has a full stream of the album and listen to some of the tracks, a lot of you are going to like this. This LP is limited to only 675 hand assembled LPs. The first 150 copies ordered directly from Graveface will be pressed on a blue + gray color wax and Ryan confirmed a few are left. All copies of the double LP are packaged in what I suspect will be the best packaging you are going to see all year long. The artwork is designed by William Schaff, who has also designed album artwork for Godspeed You Black Emperor!, all of the Okkervil River albums and many others, and is a handmade pop-up gatefold LP. Each one of these packages takes about 35 minutes to put together and you can check out a teaser
video here to see the work being done. The vinyl version comes with a CD copy as well and anyone who orders from Graveface will also receive a demo cdr from this albums sessions. Oh yeah, and you get 4 additional songs not included on the CD as well.

Manimal is re-issuing the debut full length from Bat for Lashes which has been out of print for a few years now. This is a welcomed re-issue as anyone who has attempted to get a copy has had a rough time and probably shelled out 60 bucks on eBay for a copy. The LP is being released in a set of 1000 on 180-gram wax and in a gatefold sleeve. Those who want a copy on blue opaque wax, limited to only 200 copies, will need to order directly from
Manimal Vinyl. This extra limited package will cost you about $25 if your in the USA. These will ship tomorrow but Manimal says January 20th for the black copies to hit the stores.
Aural Exploits has copies and claims to be shipping tomorrow as well. These will be black wax but will also cost about $5 less. Great time to pick up this album if you have not already done so. I for one have always loved that “What’s A Girl To Do” song and video and figured I might enjoy the rest of the album.
