White York - Changing the Wheel

August 29th, 2008 · No Comments

Artist: White York
Title: Changing the Wheel
Format: 7″
Label: Feral Kid Records
Catalog #: FK06
Pressed: 300

2007 will forever be remembered by Against Me! loyalists the year they “sold out.” While these people were bickering about the idea of selling out and Florida coffee shops, Buffalo’s White York put out a record that all of these fans would be content with. “Changing the Wheel” didn’t change the wheel, but it was a solid effort by a band with an unfortunately short career. Besides a demo, this was the only proper release from this band. The vinyl released as a black 7″ is limited to 300 and has a screen pressed cover and backing complete with a small insert book. The record is still available through No Idea. Although the band has since broken up, this is a record that will have a hard time leaving your turntable. It contains the song “Changing the Wheel”, heard here, which was one of the best songs of 2007. Side B contains a much mellower song about becoming attached to one’s pain and suffering. All in all, this was one of the best 7″s of 2007 and for under $3 is a must buy.

This is Limited Edition Vinyl’s 100th post and the first post from our new contributor, Don B, who will be covering punk rock records, and others, for the site.
