Artist: Thomas Function
Title: Nomad
Format: 7″
Label: Alive
Catalog #: ??
Pressed: 1000
Thomas Function is back for their second release on Alive Records. If you recall earlier this year they released the excellent LP, Celebration, on the same label. This new 7″ features 3 songs that Alive/Bomp! is advertising as all non-LP tracks. Those tracks include, Nomad, We Simply Just Attack, and what appears to be a track from the LP, Peanut Butter and Paranoia Jam. I suspect the last track may be a different take on the song but my single has not arrived yet so I cannot confirm. Either way PB&P Jam is an awesome song so no worries. This single is being pressed in a run of 1,000 and will be on a marble vinyl. Celebration is definitely going to be at the top of my 2008 shortlist (which I guess you will see soon) so if your feeling a bit underwhelmed about the albums you picked up this year do yourself a favor and go to the Bomp! store, pick up this 7 inch for only $5 bucks and the grab the full length LP as well. Then be prepared to forget all about that disappointing new Kings of Leon album, cause this brings the rock n roll y’all.

There was a version of “We Simply Just Attack” on the first Thomas Function demo CD. I don’t know if this is a new version though. The T-Func demo was pretty good though. Everything else from that demo has been released on 7″ already so I’ve been expecting this one to show up eventually. It’s a good song.

OK, I got the single yesterday. “Nomad” is a new recording from the same sessions as “Belly Of The Beast”. We Simply Just Attack” is from the demo CD and “Peanut Butter and Paranoia Jam” is a non-LP acoustic take.
It’s a good record!
