The Decemberists have announced a brand new 12″ singles series that is available exclusively from their web store. The series is titled “Always The Bridesmaid” and consists of 3 volumes of limited edition color vinyl 12″ records. No word on how many are available or what color these are pressed on. This will only be available on vinyl, it is not being offered on CD so if you have yet to buy a turntable, go get one. The records are pressed on 180 gram vinyl and come packaged in a full color sleeve. The jacket is die cut so the sleeve is displayed in the front. The details of each release are as follows:

• Volume I. Valerie Plame / O New England (October 14, 2008)
• Volume II. Days of Elaine / Sticking With You (November 4, 2008)
• Volume III. Record Year / Raincoat Song (December 2, 2008)

This series is only being offered from the Decemberists web store here and appears to be a self released set that will be distributed by Jealous Butcher.
