I’ve been watching Sun Araw (one half of Magic Lantern) since he released a limited CD on Not Not Fun roughly a year ago. Sun Araw falls into the psychedelic / experimental range of genres but the records are not so far off the map that they lose you or make you wonder just where the music is. The tunes here are still free of any form, however, as a listener you can get lost in the grooves and simply enjoy the ride.  Sun Araws music will definitely challenge it’s listeners but I would recommend this to fans of the Black Angels, BRMC, or Spaceman 3 as a gateway into a stranger looser musical experience.  If your already a fan of any Acid Mothers Temple you’ll find this one worth the money.  Boat Trip was originally released as a 50 copy CDr that was part of the Stunned Records releases. As with all Stunned releases it was a CD that was given a lot of attention with packaging and hand numbered. This is now being offered on vinyl in a run of 500 copies on black vinyl by Woodsist and after taking a look at the cover of this 12″ there was no way I could not write up a post about this.
