Missouri’s Jerusalum and The Starbaskets have teamed up with the Wooden Wand & The Vanishing Voice side project, Bengal Traitors, to release a 2nd split single on The Great Pop Supplement. When you read reviews of JATS you tend to hear the names, The Velvet Underground, The Sonics and Modern Lovers. I have had a hard time pinning down just what they sound like but I know I like it, and I like it a lot. It definitely has a pop sound to it but it’s clearly in the psychedelic realm of things. I also hear evidence of classic lo-fi pop like Neutral Milk Hotel in the low, completely fuzzed out guitars. I say go check out their myspace page and give the tracks a listen. They are also selling all of the available records they have released directly from that page. You can pick up this release there too. It’s limited to 350 copies on clear vinyl and comes in a really tripped out sleeve. The label claims to only have a few left and the band probably didn’t get a lot to start with. While your there be sure to pick up the other singles and their full length LP as well. I suspect a lot of people will like this band, I hope you do too. The Great Pop Supplement will also release its first full length LP by this band in the near future.
