I am very excited to announce the first ever singles club from Columbus Discount Records. Maybe you’re familiar with this great little label cause you like (or hate) Times New Viking, maybe you’re old school and dig Mike Rep. Maybe you have never heard of this label and are wondering why they hell they have a singles club. Maybe that’s a problem. The singles in this club are limited to 350 copies total and only 250 subscriptions are available to consumers such as yourself. The rest go to the band and a few are held back so when USPS screws up you don’t get screwed. That’s nice of CDR. You know what else is nice? CDR knows that times are tough and you might not have the money to handle this immense collection of awesomeness so they give you a few shipping options to help you save a few bucks. The first option is to have each single sent to your house every month. This will cost you $78.12, which is $6.50 a 7 inch. Your next option is a quarterly option where you receive 4 delivers of 3 records each for $68.76. You also have a option of 2 delivers, one at 6 months and one at 12 months for $69.60. These are shipped priority so the price went up slightly. If your really hurting and are lucky enough to live in the rock and roll hipster mecca that is Columbus, OH you can just pay $60 flat and each month pick the record up on the 6th or 7th from a CDR staffer at a local bar or record store. They also mention they will hand deliver the singles to invalids and weed shut-ins for a small fee. I may personally opt for this method. You can also order this if you are not in the USA, International shipping will be exact price based on your location. Are you starting to get the feeling that CDR cares about you a little more then some random sub poppy music label that might also be running a singles club?

None of the CDR-SC-Y1! singles will be repressed, made available for download, or sold to distros or stores by Columbus Discount Records. So don’t hesitate or you’re probably gonna miss out. The release order will be left unannounced. The identity of the artist and information about the single will be released on the 5th of each month, the same day the records go into the mail. The first record goes in the mail September 5th. CDR is also taking a lot of care in making sure this doesn’t turn into one of those clubs that turns into a 2 year club. They are working with the pressing plant and artist to make sure everything runs smoothly. I trust they will keep to their word.
