Happy Labor Day. To celebrate we are going to look back at a great album that was surrounded with so much hype I almost didn’t buy the album. It’s Clap Your Hands Say Yeah from New York City, famous for self releasing their album and selling it out of their tiny NYC apartment. Well the album was deserving of the hype, and I had no idea until this weekend that it was even released on vinyl at all. In fact, no mention of this release is anywhere expect Insound and Wichita, with the latter only linking to iTunes to purchase the album so they are sold out it appears. The LP is a bit pricey, it is an import to the USA, and the album is really great so I am sure that doesn’t help the price. If your reading this after a day out in the sun with the family you may have had enough beers to make this purchase an easy one. The LP is only $33 plus shipping and it is available from the fine folks at Insound right here. I will also mention that the last time one of these hit eBay it sold for $46 dollars so maybe that $33 price tag is not all that crazy. You might even want to pick up two and sell one on eBay to some poor unsuspecting soul once these sell out at Insound, which shouldn’t take too long (this was just added to their catalog).  While I am mentioning things, Insound also has an exclusive tour only CD from 2006 featuring Clap Your Hands, Architecture in Helsinki and Takka Takka. This is the only place to get them and once they are gone, they are gone.
