Italy’s Jennifer Gentle started making the hipsters blogs this year when information about their 4th full length was released by Sub Pop. The album is the “bands” 2nd for Sub Pop. Jennifer Gentle is now essentially a solo project as full time drummer Alessio Gastaldello has left the band. This left founder and songwriter Marco Fasolo all by himself to record the entire new album, which he did. The Sacramento Sessions this post focuses on was released by the Italian label A Silent Place. This 2 song 12″ EP was recorded in the studio but is the band performing the same jams they performed live for a California radio station the day before. It recorded in the US during the bands first US tour. This LP is Packaged in a deluxe and elegant fold-out cover. Surprisingly there are still copies available of this record available from Sub Pop and A Silent Place. Sub Pop has a few copies of the pink pressing for $14 here and A Silent Place claims to have both the black and pink pressings still available here. At this time I have not heard back from A Silent Place regarding my order request for the black pressing. When I hear back I will update this post to include price. Fans of spacey psych rock will dig this album and collectors should jump no the chance to pick up a fairly old release for a band gaining notoriety.

UPDATE: A Silent Place has informed us it will cost 23 Euro (31 USD) to ship the vinyl to the USA. They appear to still have copies of the black pressing.
