Cuban Crimewave is a 4 piece band from Nottigham, UK. They do things a little differently. The band consists of 4 individuals of whom none play the guitar. They have 2 bass players, 1 drummer and 1 singer. The closest thing your going to be able to compare this to is Death From Above 1979. Actually if you were a fan of that band I suggest you pick this up. This one-sided 7″ single is the debut release from Cuban Crimewave. It is extremely limited to only 350 copies. You can purchase this release from the Bomp! Store if you are in the US and from Rough Trade if you hail from across the Atlantic. After previewing a few demos the band has on their myspace page I must admit I ordered the single as well. It only cost $5 plus shipping from Bomp! so I really didn’t see why I shouldn’t. It probably helps I was a huge DFA1979 fan.
