Uptight, Brimstone Howls first ever European single release, is exactly what it looks like, fun as hell. This 7 inch single is brought to use by the Italian outfit, Shake Your Ass records whom are no stranger to releasing limited edition singles. Uptight is a rockin garage rock stomper worthy of its own release. The B side of this 45 is a new take on the song, The Gates, which originally appeared on the bands Speed Nebraska release, Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! (and, while completely untrue, directly influenced Spoon naming of their release Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga) back in 2005. Both tracks on this single are filled with sick infectious guitar licks that are recommended for any fan of dirty garage rock. Shake Your Ass went a little crazy with the pressings on this single and the results are 4 hand-numbered colored 7 inch records. First we have 22 pressed on orange, 43 on a marble pink and 55 on whats called Bloody Red. These pressings all sold out within several days of being posted to Shake Your Asses website. Still available is the silver gray edition of 94. The website claims that 96 were available but the hand numbering on the record claims that only 94 were pressed. Once the colors are gone all that remains is an unknown number on black vinyl. The only way to get the Uptight single is directly from Shake Your Ass. This 7″ to the USA cost me 6.70 Euros, which is just under 10 USD and it only took 11 days from payment to my mailbox from Italy. Speed Nebraska was sent a shipment of these singles to sell however they were lost in the mail. I do not know the details of what pressings were sent but if they were the colored versions then this single is even more limited then originally intended. I imagine this limited single will be sold out very soon so don’t wait.
